OKAY from the top Dipper has been. Very protective of Mabel because the two were shoved in this random amusement park with complete strangers, and told that there would be?? Killing happening?? So immediately he was in the "I can only trust Mabel" mindset, making him more protective of her than usual. But thanks to Mabel, he was able to trust the other people there a little easier, which made his conscious a bit easier too. But he was still above everything, scared. Because two cute little twelve year olds who are most definitely going to be on each other's side to the end? Of course it's logical to kill at least one of them, since they'd be easy targets and it'd get rid of an extra vote against you. And also upon learning they both had buddies he pretty much immediately knew they weren't both going to get out of this. So... he tried preparing himself for him getting killed or losing Mabel, while trying to still investigate and act as normal as he could for her sake, really. He really did want to find the VIPs as fast as possible and win so they could both just leave before the inevitable happened, though.

And then you know.. Mabel got converted and that was something he never expected at all, really. He figured if she was going to be a VIP, she'd keep him around to use his brain and he would've been pissed but he would've went along with it anyway. So yeah.. as soon as he realized she was going to kill him, it's like he literally could not understand it. Like Mabel? Killing me? She would never..... Mabel??? During their little argument before he died he couldn't even properly get his thoughts or feelings together, really, he just kind of yelled whatever came to mind first because he was so confused and he didn't want to even believe what was happening. The thought of it not even being Mabel killing him probably crossed his thoughts once, too. But when she started crying and yelling at him.. he could tell that it was genuine and that's why he decided to stop arguing and just. Die. Because he didn't want their last moment to be them yelling and mad at each other, and he could see that she genuinely didn't WANT to kill him, but she HAD to for some reason. So.. yeah.

After he woke up in the graveyard, he watched her on the monitors as much as he could. Like literally he didn't care about anyone else who was alive, honestly. He might've worried about the others a little bit but in the end he was just thinking about Mabel. Like when he found out she was being brainwashed he might've had a small panic over it because someone ACTUALLY fucked with her brain and were MAKING her think that killing was okay. The thought of someone being able to control her thoughts or feelings just. Scared him. So bad. So it made him want to figure out how to leave and get to her ASAP, and he didn't get any sleep over the nights because of his worries either.. like I'm serious when I say he got maybe 10 or 11 hours at most since he arrived to Dreamland to when he leaves. He probably had a few nightmares about like remembering the bunker fun they had in canon or about Mabel getting hung just.. yeah...

Speaking of he had SO MANY MIXED FEELINGS about Mabel being a VIP. Like on one hand he wanted her to die so she could be in the bunker safe with him and not brainwashed anymore, but on the other he wanted her to live so she didn't have to go through getting hung and then interrogated when she arrived.. because he knew she'd be scared. Thankfully he was able to just save her and everyone else but god he spent a lot of his time thinking of those two scenarios, trying to figure out which would be better in the end. Because he didn't believe he'd actually be able to save her, as much as he wished he could. God he was just so worried about Mabel from start to end he literally didn't care about anyone else or even himself as much as Mabel.

Like if someone had hurt Mabel before he arrived with the tank team, he would've hunted them down and at least punched them bruh
